Mikri Amoopi is a famous beach in Karpathos Island, with crystal blue waters.
The most important things that you should know about our beach are:
- Calm sea, not affected by the wind or “meltemia” (northern summer winds) like the rest beaches of Karpathos
- Mikri Amoopi is known for its shallow waters, of little depth, and that’s one of the reasons why we say that it’s a family- friendly beach
- Its geographical location is ideal for families, couples and groups who want to relax and enjoy the Karpathian breeze
Amoopi Challenge
Mikri Amoopi in our Resort has a beautiful and imposing rock, called Asproua. This rock is a challenge, especially for those who visit us every year! Asproua is the best spot for diving and you can try it from many different levels. The “level” you choose, depends on your age. So if you are a kid/ teenager or and adult, you can see it as a challenge each year you visit Karpathos and as your personal bet for the summer’s achievement.
A historical beach of Karpathos
Nowadays there is Mikri and Megali Amoopi, something like the small beach and the bigger beach. Amoopi though used to be one beach- and one of the best spots for mud therapy and natural spa- and that’s Mikri Amoopi in our resort. Today Megali Amoopi is an organized beach and our Mikri Amoopi is the best beach to relax, swim and watch the sunset in calmness.
Amoopi is located in the middle of the route from the airport to the city of Karpathos (Pigadia) and is about 6km away from the nearest village of Meneti. Of course, is connected by regular bus services with other villages and in recent years has a great tourism development. That’s because of its crystal blue waters, which all want to see and feel!
